Important Notes
(1) The courses completed abroad must fit into the programme requirements of your Bachelor’s Degree programme in order to be eligible for credit transfer. Credit transfer is not guaranteed until your return from exchange/study abroad with a full set of course materials provided by the host institution, and the Department receives your official transcript issued by the host institution. Hence, going on exchange/study abroad may lead to deferral of your study and graduation, especially for final year students.
(2) Due to the Block Credit Transfer, Year 3 entry students are not recommended to join the scheme because they are required to defer their graduation until they can successfully complete their outstanding credits in the HKSYU programme.
(3) Grades for courses completed abroad would NOT be included in the calculation of GPA and Honours classification.
(4) You are required to arrange your own suitable and adequate insurance for the entire period of your study at the host institution. The insurance should cover, but is not limited to, travel, personal accidents, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalization and emergency evacuation/repatriation.
(5) You have to authorize and consent:
(i) Hong Kong Shue Yan University (“HKSYU”) to releasing your personal information and academic results to the host institution;
(ii) HKSYU to making any necessary enquiries, which requires releasing your personal information provided in this application, for purposes relating to your application for exchange/study abroad; and
(iii) Relevant authorities/organisations to releasing any record or information to HKSYU as may be required for the enquiries mentioned in (ii).
(iv) International Unit reserves the right of final decision in nomination.
(6) The release of the Non-means-Tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Studies in Hong Kong offered by the HKSAR Government would be subject to the final approval of the Education Bureau. Any extended study period at HKSYU (e.g. semester beyond Year 4) would not be covered by the Subsidy Scheme.
