Important Notes
The University premises are private property and the University has the legal right to stop vehicles from entering and to control the movement of vehicles within the University. All individuals who wish to operate a vehicle on University premises are required to observe the following terms and conditions, and to comply with any instruction given by the University staff in relation to traffic control and parking:
1. All vehicles parked on University premises shall display and maintain a valid vehicle license issued by the Hong Kong Government and shall be insured by a registered Hong Kong insurance company under a valid third parties insurance policy or comprehensive insurance policy.
2. Vehicles without a valid license or insurance coverage, and vehicles operated by a driver without a valid driving license shall be prohibited from entering the University premises.
3. Parking labels must be displayed in a prominent position on the front windscreen at all times for easy identification. The validity of the parking labels will automatically expire once the vehicle license is no longer valid. All parking labels issued are non-transferable.
4. A vehicle shall be parked properly within a marked parking space and shall not park in the space marked “Reserved”.
5. The University shall not be liable for any theft of or loss of or damage to a vehicle or any of the accessories or contents of a vehicle parked on University premises whether caused through the negligence or breach of contract committed by the University or its staff. Neither will it be accountable for injury to persons in a vehicle while it is on the University premises.
6. Any driver and/or owner of a vehicle causing damage to property on University premises shall bear full liability and shall compensate the University for the complete repair or replacement of such property.
7. A vehicle driver must do nothing that may cause fire risk or other hazard or inconvenience to the University or other third parties.
8. Vehicles causing excessive noise or pollution within the University premises will be required to leave.
9. The sounding of horns or other warning devices, except as an essential safety precaution, is prohibited.
10. For Class “A” Parking Permit holders, the parking fee will be automatically deducted from the holder’s monthly salary after issuance of the permit. The parking fee will be reviewed in line with the review of the University’s Accommodation Policy every two years.
11. For vehicles which have been assigned a parking spot at the Library Complex, the applicant shall pay a security deposit of HK$100 for possessing a remote control to operate the access gates. The deposit will be refunded when the remote control is returned in good working condition.
